Grande Prairie’s Planning and Development Department is asking for public input on how current signage regulations should be updated. The increased use of electronic displays on billboards and freestanding signs have become a concern for some because of their impact on aesthetics and even road visibility.

“We want to ensure that the new regulations provide an appropriate balance between effective advertising for businesses owners, traffic visibility and safety, and beautification concerns … By obtaining a variety of perspectives and opinions we can best address these issues” explained Senior Planner Dan Whelton.
